Shadow and Reflection
~ My best photo is Reflection a. This is a capture of a pond in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I chose to shoot this photo as I stood waiting with the SBRHS marching band during their national competition while they practiced their show. We were stationed on this open park near the stadium and I was in awe of the beauty and simplicity of the place.
~ I took this photo from the base of a willow tree beside the pond. When the photo captured however, it was rotated. I left it like this because it created a sense of backwards reality.
~ I chose to shoot this photo from the base of the tree so I could capture both the horizon and the reflection seen in the lake, as well as the hanging branches of the weeping willow.
~ I chose a low point of view, a certain camera angle to catch light, and the rule of thirds when aligning my camera with the branches. This created a unique and colorful photograph, even before editing.
~ I used the natural sunlight that reflects off of the water and the patches of sunlight coming through the tree to brighten and enhance the colors throughout the photograph.
~ My photo best conveys a mood of tipped reality, almost insinuating that one must look at things from a different angle in order to fully understand them.
~ My weakest image is Reflection c. Its almost hard to tell that it is in fact a reflection of something, rather than just a photograph of the bricks head-on.

~ Below is a redone edit of my photo "Shadow a". After the peer critique, I went back and darkened the actual shadow of the hand in the photo. With the advice from one of my peers, I readjusted the levels of the photo to create the darker shadow.
