LINE AND SHAPE
Reflection:
- My best photograph from my first shoot is the sixth photo displayed in the gallery. It is a closeup shot of the shape and texture of a wooden marker placed in the lawn of the school grounds outside of our new building at SBRHS.
- I photographed this picture from below the top edge of the piece at an angle.
- I chose this point of view to showcase the lines of the wood and angles of the piece of wood itself while also exposing the sky behind it.
_ The rule of thirds was in the back of my mind as I searched for the best position and angle to capture the wooden marker. I ended up shooting the photo with the marker coming out of the bottom right corner and ending towards the left top corner. In doing this I hoped to hit the focal points of the photograph instead of looking at it head on.
- I used the source of light from the sun behind me to illuminate the grains of the wood and turn the background of the sky dark when turned into grayscale.
