DISGUISE
Special thanks to Bella Seney, for being an excellent model.
DAY OF THE DEAD - DISGUISE
REFLECTION...
DIRECTION 1 - DISGUISE WITHIN A PHOTO
1. My subject matter for this photo assignment is my good friend Bella Seney. I chose to photograoh her for the day of the dead assignment.
2. I disguised Bella by draping a black cloak around her face and a garland of flowers around her neck.
3. I took these photographs in traditional portrait style, changing my point of view to capture her in different angles.
4. The background of this photograph is all black, to create a sense of darkness and mystery, as well as pull out the color in the photograph.
DIRECTION 2 - DISGUISE THROUGH DIGITALLY MODIFYING THE PHOTO
1. I altered the photographs in this series by layering text over the portraits and her features and blurring her face and the words in the images.
2. The edits increase the meaning of the portraits by showing disguise in people. The words bring out more meaning into the portraits by playing with your soul and altering your thinking.
3. The messages Im sending by disguising Bella in words can be read in the words that are over her face and portraits.
DIRECTION 3 - DISGUISE THROUGH ALTERING A PRINTED PHOTO
1. I altered the printed portrait by printing out a smaller and larger version of each and then cutting one of them into strips, I then used steel wool to scratch the strips of the photograph and laid them atop the larger photo, creating a disguise with the portrait.
2. These edits to the photo altered the meaning of the images and created mystery by altering the way the image looks to the viewer.
The strongest of these directions is disguise within a photo. These images have the best meaning to them and were done with the most passion. The images were altered in order to become clearer to the reader even while being in disguise.
