Depth of Field
Reflection:
My best photo from this assignment is the last and seventh photo. This is the fourth shallow depth of field photo I have posted on my website, and it is depicting the dying flowers of fall. I chose to shoot this particular flower because of the angle in which it grew and the form of the flower and its leaves, although it was turning brown in the cold. I took this photo from a worm's eye point of view, angling the lens a bit underneath the plant. I chose this point of view so the light from the sun would go through the dying petals of the flowers. I used the rule of thirds and shallow depth of field to enhance and heighten the quality of the photograph. I chose this angle particularly because of the light and the way it was coming through the petals of the flowers and enhancing the colors of the photo.
- The second photo in the gallery most successfully uses the use of shallow depth of field. The wooden beam is in focus and the background of the photo faded into a blurry scenery.
- My fifth photo is a good example of showing lots of depth of field. Everything remained in focus and has good contrast with each other, as I did my best to balance black and white.
